"Fantastic Price
GREAT delivery
Product was the best can opener I have owned and I am 64 years old.I've owned a few.In fact this was the third one I had purchased this time before I got this one that I liked.
Thanks " – Wes Q. Umbreit
Customer Reviews:
"The product is simple and efficient. Well made and practical. The unit is very stable and handles larger jars quite well. The cutter quickly detaches from the body for easy cleaning. Could not ask for more.
" – Richard A. Moore
Customer Reviews:
"Well worth the little extra money. Cheaper openers need to line up the can, but if you get it close this one will grab it and open it. " – KMF
Customer Reviews:
"Bought this while trying to find an under-counter can openener that would tolerate overhangs. As other people have noted, the arm you lift up to insert the can comes off WAY too easily - they should have made it to where you have to rotate it counterclockwise another 90 degrees or so before it can be removed. Also, after just a few months' use it does not open cans anymore, even while holding the can to it and helping it rotate the can. This is a horrible product and I would definitely not buy again.Wish another manufacturer made one that can fit under a lipped cabinet... " – Garrett Cook
Customer Reviews:
"The can opener works well and leaves no sharp edges. It is attractive and easy to use. However, it does not shut off automatically as claimed in Amazon's description. Even the owner's manual says it does not shut off automatically. Had I known this, I would have purchased the 76606 model and saved $10 since I don't need another pair of scissors, the only difference between the two models as far as I can tell. " – K. Jones

"Sunbeam used to make the best can opener and knife sharpener combination on the market, until they sold to Oster. With the Sunbeam model the "knife sharpner" feature is merely a token. Gone are the dual spinning stones that used to really debur and put a precision sharp edge on cutlery. The good news is that the old Sunbeam (the good one) has morphed into what is now the Oster Model #3118 ... exactly the same as the original (good) Sunbeam. So my recommendation is to buy the Oster model #3118 " – James J. Harp "Zoltani"
Customer Reviews: After marrying we bought an electric can opener which broke soon thereafter. While waiting for the day when it was to be repaired (which ended up being never), I bought this OXO manual can opener thinking it would be a temporary and inexpensive solution. It is awesome. We have been using ours for about 5 years and it is still going strong. It is fast, easy to use, and comfortable. There is no pain or discomfort when holding it. It cuts the can cleanly and is just plain easier to use than electric can openers. We are sticking with the OXO can opener and not going back to electric openers. I highly recommend this can opener, ditch your electric can opener and make things easier on yourself!
"I grew up with electric can openers that inevitably broke or had a hard time attaching to the can, then the contents often spilled as I removed it from the magnetic holder. Back then the alternative was a hand-held manual one that was actually painful to use.
Customer Reviews:
"I like this can opener. It is a clean-lined, elegant looking, contemporary machine, that works well. It's tall, like me.I like the clean white color. The removable dishwasher-safe cutting assembly is a nice touch.I've had it for about 2 months now, and the only potential negative I have found so far, is that with some larger size (24 oz. and up) cans, it will tip over forward, due to lack of sufficient base weight. Thus the imperfect 4-star rating.
It will still hold the 24 oz. size cans by itself, if I'm careful when hanging and when removing the can.It operates quietly and cuts cleanly.Again, I am very pleased so far, and recommend it, keeping the above information in mind. " – Jonathan Schaper
Customer Reviews:
"I am very happy with the color and the height of my new can opener. The only complaint I have is that the magnet that holds the lid isn't very strong and often drops the lid in the can of stuff so I have to be carefulMy old $8.00 can opener didn't do this.

Due to the invention of the Electric Can Opener you can save your energy and through its automatic function you can do the work in quick time as well. Due its uses these can openers are extensively used in hotels and kitchens.
In the start manual type Openers are introduced but these can openers are not able to get the fame and popularity as the modern one. Another factor was that at that time these openers are very costly as well so that’s why they are not able to get fame.

"Swing-A-Way Magnetic Wall Can Opener This is the can opener of my childhood.I am 64 and I was thrilled to find this product for sale.It is by far the easiest can opener, manual or electric, for people with any issues of strength or dexterity.I have arthritis and this can opener is truly effortless. It is easy for children to operate.Cleaning is simple since the can opener easily lifts off its base. Customer Reviews:
"I love this thing.I have an electric can opener as well, but since we got one of these for Christmas, the electric opener hardly gets used. This is easy for people with weak wrists because it locks closed. Also, the magnet is handy to have.
Be warned. The product description states that this is dishwasher safe, but the Oxo website says handwash only:

I have lots of high school students that drop by the house and help cook from time to time. They all love this thing.Ever seen youth excited about opening cans?I have since we got this.
From a guy that loves gadgets, this is one of my favorite toys in the kitchen. It is a bit pricey, but worth it if you want to splurge a bit. " – David E. Anderson "Gadget Geek Deluxe"

"I bought this can opener & it works great except it's a little on the messy side! When you use it make sure you are over a sink because the juices in the canned goods splatter out.Other than that it's not a bad kitchen gadget " – Greater Good!

Customer Reviews:
"I purchased this item and received it yesterday (June 3rd, 2010).To clear up any inquiry, the can opener I received (Amco Swing-A-Way 407WH) is NOT made in the USA: it has no stamp indicating origin on the can opener (the old ones said Made in USA), and the package states "Made in China."So if you are looking for an authentic Swing-A-Way can opener made in America like I was, try somewhere else because Amco has sold this model overseas.
BTW I compared it to our existing Swing-A-Way, they are very similar in weight and feel, with the action between the gears on the China model being a bit looser/less precise than the old one. Can't say how it will hold up, but the quiet betrayal is disappointing. " – J. Stewart "J. Steawrt"
